Gum Care
At Eternal Smiles
Dental Centre
We believe at Eternal Smiles that Gum Care is essential for the foundation of the teeth i.e. the gum and surrounding supporting bone is important for you to keep your teeth for many years to come like Carol and Kiran did.
If weak foundations are present, your teeth will not be able to function optimally. We will be able to give you the hygiene clean that will clean away the bacteria, plaque and tartar that builds around your teeth and under your gums.
We use a jet washing technique to clean below the gums and inbetween the teeth. It works more efficiently than hand instruments and thus allows the cleaning process to be done very well for you.
“Feeling better, looking better and smiling better thanks to teams friendly approach, expertise and helpful advice on keeping my gums healthy. Many thanks.”

How to take care of your dental bridges and fixed denture implants?
Practise good dental hygiene:
- Clean them every day to prevent tooth decay, bad breath and gum disease.
- Clean under the false tooth every day.
- Keep the remaining teeth healthy, as these serve as the foundation for the dental bridge and fixed denture implants.
Brushing and flossing:
- Brush and floss at least twice daily.
- To floss, use our wisdom floss threader.
Diet and eating habits:.
- Eat a balanced and nutritious diet for good general and dental health.
- We recommend green Iceberg lettuce and a little orange juice becuase it gives energy to you rather than take energy from the body.
“I am delighted with the gum treatment and care I have received so far from Dr Singh. My gums have never felt better.”

Tips for Gum Care
Brush three times a day. Remember, brush you teeth twice a day with a the special one we recommend. In 3 months, you can see a 21% reduction in dental plaque and an 11% reduction in gum inflammation.
Brush teeth within an hour of eating. This reduces bad bacteria. You want more good bacteria in your mouth and gut. Like when we have probiotics which is to help produce good bacteria in the tummy.
FLOSSING IS IMPORTANT
Flossing after every meal reduces gingivitis, or gum disease, as it reaches the area between your teeth that a toothbrush can’t reach according to a 2021 review by 12 studies done by well known dentists.
For all patients, this is very important, as the gum tissue is likely to shrink over time, leaving bigger gaps where food can get stuck.
According to a recent study, flossing is more effective after brushing as it loosens food particles that brushing can then sweep away.
Eat the right foods
After Gum Diesease treatment add citrus fruits, tomatoes, peppers and leafy greens. They’re all rich in vitamin C, which promotes gum health.
Drink lots of water and avoid sodas as they have high acid content which is bad for teeth and healing gums.
MAKE DENTAL APPOINTMENTS 2-4 TIMES A YEAR.
Dental examinations are very important, we look for mouth cancer and which gums are not being look after by you.
When teeth have decay the nerves inside your teeth become smaller and less sensitive as you age, so if you feel a cavity, it may already be at an advanced stage. You may lose that tooth and even require more extensive and costly treatment.
You will also be screened for oral cancer, which has a higher occurrence in the aged population.
Finally, if you are a smoker or suffer from type-2 diabetes, your dentist will want to see you every 3-6 months.
